A New Historical Moments As New Executive Elected
Another historical moment had been made again among the Yoruba (social cultural) national community Italy, has members finally elect their new national executive officers in a free fair and transparent electoral process.
Another history was made at the city of Mantova on Saturday jan 20th, 2024 as members of the Yoruba national community across the provinces gathered together to elect their new national executive officers that would steer the affairs of the association for another two years tenure.
In what seemed to be like a long anticipated process of anxiety has finally come to a victorious climax for some of the elected officers of the association as they immediately took their oaths of offices which officially sealed their victory’s.
It will be recalled that a total of five candidates contested in the election, as three candidates contested unopposed while two other candidates battled for the bigger whale seat, which is the office of the national president.
The electoral committee in charged of the conduct of the electoral process did a fantastic job as all the entire process was made openly transparent at the presence of both the observers, candidates and delegates quorums in present.
According to the electoral committee through the chairman, Ogbeni. Olumuyiwa Adetunji Opafola, interpreting the section of the constitution for declaring a candidate winner in an election quoted section ex Article 8 Section 1(b) *National Executive Council members shall be elected by all or by 2/3 of delegate members of the Association.
Having considered and observed this section of (article) of the constitution for some of the unopposed candidates with a total number of “yes or no” vote counts, the final results were pronounced victoriously for three of the officers except for the office of the national president which was won and declared based on a simple majority votes of (14-10) fourteen against ten.
